King Chiropractic

Graston Technique®

Dr. King is one of the few chiropractors in the area certified to perform the Graston Technique®, a patented instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization technique. This technique uses a set of six specifically shaped stainless steel instruments to detect and breakdown scar tissue, adhesions, and “knots” in muscles and tendons. This leads to increased blood flow and flexibility of the area being treated, thereby facilitating healing and offering pain relief. Some of the conditions this technique can be used for include:

•    Neck & Back pain
•    Tension headaches
•    Plantar fasciitis (foot pain)
•    Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)
•    Medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow)
•    Rotator cuff tendinosis (shoulder pain)
•    Patellofemoral disorders (knee pain)
•    Achilles tendinosis (ankle pain)
•    Shin splints

The Graston Technique® can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies to treat these problems. Typically about 3 to 12 treatments are needed for the full benefit, depending on the problem, but results are often felt immediately after the first few treatments.  Many insurance companies cover this procedure.
